Looking To Adopt A Dog In North Carolina?

Virginia is the true face of a dog in need wishing for a forever loving home! If you're in the North Carolina area, Viginia a hound ~ yellow Lab mix is waiting for you. I've been featuring Virginia on my blog and facebook along with other dogs on deathrow.

The more exposure we can give to dogs in kill shelters, the greater the chance they may find a home before it's too late! Virgina grabbed my heart with her sad red eyes just reaching out to pull you into her grave predicament. Virginia is at the Blade County Animal Shelter in Elizabethtown, N.C. Here's Virginia's link on Petfinder: http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=14875487 and also her link on dogs in danger: http://www.dogsindanger.com/dog.jsp?did=1255607766000

Virginia has been granted extra time, but unfortunately she's in a kill shelter! If you're near to the area, and are thinking of adopting please consider Virginia!

I'd love to see Virginia in a new home for Christmas, and witness laughter beaming from those beautiful eyes. If you happen to adopt this sweet girl, please let me know!

I can say from experience that shelter animals are very loving. I adopted my OP cat from a shelter, and after the deaths of our first generation pets, OP has filled our hearts with daily joy!

You'll never find a deeper love than from a shelter pet or one who is is abandoned! You'll be blessed with loyal and unconditional love until their dying breath! Many shelters are in need of our help, especially during our tough economic times! Seriously consider adopting from your local shelter today, and truly make a difference in the life of a shelter pet!

Happy Holidays from Pennsylvania! We've had a total of five inches of snow falling yesterday and today! We just might have a white Christmas! More photos to come when things finally slow down! Stay tuned!!!

Tiger Ranch An Even Broader View ~ Update December 11, 2009!

I've recieved many replies to my Tiger Ranch Blog posts here on Literally In The Moment! Dividing animal lovers from one end of the spectrum to the other! I welcome your comments defending or opposing this controversial and widely publicised case! Comments are from folks who actually witnessed the conditions at Tiger Ranch!

I believe there is not a right or wrong to this story, but a real need to help in the plight of the feral cat population! I also believe if we stop pointing fingers and try to come up with attainable solutions, only then we can truly make a difference! For me I'm sorry a Tiger Ranch had to exist in the first place. I see feral cats openly living everywhere here, they are sickly, beautiful, over breeding, and wild.

As we await the fate of Linn Marie Bruno and her sentencing, read the comments on my blog post: Tiger Ranch Linda Bruno Jailed Today ~ Sentencing Delayed! Update Oct 5, 2009! Very interesting comments which elaborate and offer further information about Tiger Ranch!

Open your mind and your heart to the real picture of the feral cat plight.
Let one thing unite us all ~ animal awareness, and our ongoing fight for animal welfare!

Walking In Full Cold Moonlight!

As we've done in the past I walked my sister's dog this 1st of December evening in the full moonlight. I shot the photo above at twilight just before the sky turned black and as it was just starting to rise in the sky! The night was clear and she sure was a beauty to behold!

The moon in December is called the Full Cold Moon, when the nights are the longest and darkest! Decembers moon is also called the Full Long Nights Moon meaning the moon appears in the sky for a long period of time.

Since darkness arrives so early, we often walk in the dark. Tonight the farmfields were lit by the glow, and the moon provided much light to the back roads we walk on.

Hunters have been out in full force here the past two days scouring the woods for deer hunting. Many deer have met their fate on our local roads especially in the last month.

The holiday spirit is coming alive with folks putting out their Christmas displays and lights over Thanksgiving weekend! The brisk air makes me feel like Winter is fast approaching! A full moon can bring out the romantic in anyone!
