Drill Here, Drill Now, Top 3 Videos~ Cast Your Vote! Gas Well To Take Over Wooded Area!

American Solutions has narrowed their contest video picks down to the top 3! They need your help to choose a winner! Loved all the top 3 videos. My favorite is: "It's Time To Drill," by Alfonso Rachel below. I'm not much into rap, but I do like these guys. I think they have a catchy tune, and really speak for the people on how the gas prices are affecting us! You can vote, and view the top 3 videos, until September 27, 2008 at 4:00 pm EDT. The winner of the winning video gets free gas for a year. Good luck guys! Also if you haven't signed the Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less, petition yet, please do so. 1,484,237 people have signed the petition so far!

Talk about drilling, a gas well is to be put in behind our house. The property is not ours, so we have no say about it. The only thing that bums me out is that this is a wooded area where a lot of wild habitat hangs out! There are all kinds of birds, including huge hawks which were roosting right behind my house this summer. I always thought this area was a bird watchers paradise, along with deer, and all other critters. I got a shot below of my hawk which isn't too clear, but I followed him around a long time to get this shot. He was illusive to me like many lovers in my life! There is a good bit of woods in back of me, some I hope still protected by flood control. I guess there is no stopping progress! My hawk ~

the more we futurize and procrastinate the pondering about alternative sources of energy,
the more likely we are to be drilling gas wells which would serve as our future graveyards.

Actions have consequences. We just don't wish to believe so.

The hawk just spits out its outrage in silence. :-(

Hello Sumedh,

I agree with you, I know we need to drill for our own energy, but at the risk of destroying wildlife homes is so sad!

I hope that the flood control area will help to keep them from plowing too much of the trees away. There were 5 hawks roosting here, I never saw them come so close. They definitely made their presence known.

Yes all the animals outrage in silence, and my heart is with them. Even though I believe we need to drill for our own energy, I want the beautiful woodlands to be protected!

You always find interesting videos!!!

Nice hawk pic! My boyfriend likes to bird-watch. I think I told you before that he always watches pigeons and sparrows... He should love your place!!!

I like your rose! Is that from your yard?!

Hi there! Sorry to be in short supply lately. At least they're drilling for something useful. I'm upset with all of the local farmland being bought up for stoopid housing projects. What a waste! What a tragedy!

Hi Ochi,

I love videos, I have so much fun watching them, almost as much fun as people making them. I'd like to make one someday ~ reading my poetry.

Yes your boyfriend would love this place if he likes birds. Yellow, blue, red, you name it we have it! THanks! The rose is mine, I took it right on the bush! They bloom until the frost comes.

Welcome back Jo,

Yes they are drilling for something useful. There are a tremendous of them going in all around us! How about your way?

I know farmers and farmlands are getting to be scarce. Luckily there are many still left around me, but I don't know for how long! The newer generations are not taking them over!

Ohayo jo!

Rain makes me tired and drowsy... I am at work now but I feel dopey.

What kind of camera do you use? I can't take flower images that nicely. I think you have nice feelings for what you see. I think that is the most difficult part. I want to train myself when I have time!

>>reading my poetry
I look foward to it ;)

Since you followed your hawk around for a long time to get this shot, I must comment and say,.,, (s)he's beautiful! I love hawks. We have a lot of red tails around here--one year even a nest in the hedgerow!

Good evening Ochi,

Sorry I missed this comment yesterday!

I use a Sony Cyber-shot digital camera. I only wish the zoom was better like in this shot, not too clear. Great for close ups and still shots. I really miss my photoshop editing program.

Don't have a clue how to put videos on the internet, another thing I need to train myself at! :)

Thank you Nan, I wish the photo clearer. I even followed the hawk to my neighbors down the road, and he laughed at me. They are beautiful creatures, never saw them so close to my house before.
Aren't they magificent! :)
